Paul Barrett is honored to be chosen as the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Reform UK in Romsey and Southampton North. Residing in Totton with his wife and children, Barrett has deep-rooted connections with the local community. With a background in the Parachute Regiment until 1998 and extensive global experience as a Technical Manager, Barrett moved his family back to the UK seven years ago. His commitment to Romsey and Southampton North—a predominantly rural area with vibrant market towns and some of Europe's finest trout and salmon rivers—is evident.

Barrett is deeply concerned about Romsey's troubling status as one of Hampshire's top ten most dangerous small towns. In 2023, the rivers in Romsey and Southampton North experienced 699 pollution incidents, a figure that may be higher due to gaps in monitoring. He is committed to addressing the challenges facing the local farming community, which include increasing population pressures, irrigation issues, recruitment difficulties, rural crime, and rising energy costs. Furthermore, Barrett highlights the inadequate support for veterans compared to the focus on illegal migrants.

Barrett proudly represents Reform UK, the only party dedicated to restoring greatness to Great Britain. His campaign focuses on several key areas:

• Enhanced Sewage Management: Barrett advocates for stricter controls on sewage dumping and accountability for Southern Water.

• Crime Reduction: He plans to collaborate with Hampshire Constabulary to combat crime and eliminate the influence of wokeness within the force.

• Veterans’ Support: Barrett is committed to signing the Veterans Covenant to ensure better support for those who have served the nation.
