Early Life and Education
Andrew Meacham was born in Kendal in 1966. After completing his education up to the sixth form, he joined the Royal Navy in 1983, marking the beginning of his career in marine engineering. Following his honourable discharge in 1990, Meacham pursued higher education in Mechanical Engineering, earning a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours. His educational background paved the way for his recruitment by BAE Systems (Marine) as a Marine Design Engineer at the Barrow-in-Furness shipyard, where he contributed to the design and construction of Trident SSBN and Astute SSN submarines.
Transition to Oil and Gas Industry
In 2001, Meacham made a significant career shift by joining BP, where he began his second career in the oil and gas exploration and production industry. His role involved both onshore and offshore assignments across 34 countries. During this time, he served as an engineer and managing superintendent, overseeing various projects related to energy exploration and production.
Professional Qualifications and Achievements
Andrew Meacham is a registered Chartered Engineer and an elected Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He now runs an Energy Consultancy Business and is a Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Engineers. Additionally, he has been awarded the Freedom of the City of London, underscoring his significant contributions to his field.

Meacham's growing concern about the calibre of political leaders and the increasing dysfunction in Parliament has motivated him to advocate for change. Alarmed by the UK's declining state across numerous facets of society, he is disillusioned with career politicians who appear to prioritize personal interests over the country's well-being.
