Alexander Culley Biography, Parliamentary Candidate for Southampton Itchen

Deep Roots in Southampton

Alexander Culley has deep roots in Southampton, with his family hailing from the area. His father and uncles were born and raised in Thornhill, Southampton. During the Falklands War, Culley’s father was stationed in Pembrokeshire, and Culley was born as a “base baby.” After a period of moving around, the family settled in Bristol but frequently visited Southampton. Alexander’s grandparents lived on Thornhill Avenue, where he and his sisters enjoyed cherished childhood moments. With tales from his Grandad about traveling the world with Cunard and his Nanna’s homecooked chips, Alexander developed an early passion for Southampton’s football scene. This enthusiasm was cemented when he watched Richard Hall score a memorable header in a 1992 match against Bolton Wanderers.

A Successful Career and Entrepreneurial Journey

From 2007 until late 2021, Alexander Culley worked in London, advancing to senior roles in the financial markets. Leveraging this extensive experience, he established a consultancy in late 2021. Based near Southampton Airport, this consultancy has quickly gained a reputation as a trusted advisor for clients in the UK and internationally.

Concerns Over Labour’s Economic Policies

As a small business owner, Culley is deeply concerned about the prospect of a Labour government. He criticizes the current Conservative administration for making the UK less competitive by increasing corporation tax on profits over £250,000 from 19% to 25%. He believes that Labour’s tendency to overspend and interfere would exacerbate economic issues. Culley argues that if Labour cannot manage finances effectively at the local level, they should not be trusted with the country’s economy. Reform UK, under his vision, aims to reduce tax and regulatory burdens on entrepreneurs, including scrapping IR35 rules for sole traders, raising the VAT threshold to £100,000, and cutting corporation tax to 15% from year five.

Commitment to Education and Immigration Reform

As a father, Alexander Culley is alarmed by Labour’s potential to further the “woke” agenda in schools, which he feels has already been worsened by the Conservative Party’s tolerance of divisive ideologies. He advocates for Reform UK to eliminate these ideologies from the education system within the first 100 days in office.

Culley also stresses the need to address uncontrolled mass immigration. Since Tony Blair’s tenure, successive governments have ignored public opinion on this issue, leading to strain on public infrastructure and social cohesion. Reform UK proposes a selective, skills-based immigration scheme and a zero-tolerance approach to illegal migration, including the immediate deportation of foreign nationals who commit crimes.

Vote Reform UK for a Better Future

On July 4th, Alexander Culley believes the choice is clear. He urges voters to support Reform UK to avoid the failures of the current administration and the extremes of Labour’s policies.
