Michael Bailey Biography, Parliamentary Candidate for Stoke-on-Trent South
Early Political Aspirations
Michael Bailey's political journey began in 1997 when he was selected as the Referendum candidate for Stoke South, although he ultimately did not stand. At that time, he was residing in Fenton. Following this period, Michael focused on his business and family. Despite accepting the democratic decision to remain in the European Union, he had always wished for the UK to exit. His frustration with the Tory Party's failure to honor its referendum promises led him to become active with the Brexit Party, which later evolved into the Reform Party.
Commitment to Sovereignty and National Issues
Initially reluctant to stand for election, Michael Bailey was persuaded by fellow campaigners to fight for the sovereignty of the nation. He is deeply concerned about the current levels of immigration and the strain it places on the UK's services and infrastructure. He believes that the focus should shift from increasing the population solely for economic gain to enhancing the quality of life and making better use of existing resources.
Vision for Education and Industry
Michael advocates for a comprehensive overhaul of the education system and aims to achieve technical excellence in the UK's manufacturing sectors. His commitment to improving these areas is a core part of his political platform.
Personal Background and Professional Experience
Though not originally from Potteries, Michael Bailey has strong connections to Stoke. Born and raised in Whitchurch, he has fond memories of visiting the Potteries with his family to purchase crockery and second-hand furniture. Michael joined the Royal Air Force in 1979 and served until 1987, after which he settled in Stafford and later Fenton. He has worked in various roles, including with a refrigeration company in Hanley and an Air Handling Unit manufacturer in Stoke, before becoming self-employed. With over 35 years of experience running his own business, Michael has also engaged in local sports and holds an Instructor and Ground Examiner rating in Microlight flying.
Challenges and Commitment to Stoke
Michael no longer resides in Stoke due to frequent crime affecting his business premises and vehicle. He moved to a countryside setting outside Eccleshall but maintains a strong connection to Stoke, considering himself an adopted son of the city. He is committed to serving the people of South Stoke and aims to address the drug problems in the area if elected.
Vision for the Future
Michael Bailey's motivation for running for Parliament is to ensure that his grandchildren enjoy the same freedoms and safety he experienced growing up. He advocates for a smaller government, reduced interference in daily lives, and an end to the criminalization of motorists and educational indoctrination. He is concerned about the notion of global governance and seeks to end the constant fear-mongering from various institutions. Michael believes that people should be treated as responsible adults capable of independent thought and should not be governed by division and fear. He calls for patriotic leaders who prioritize the nation's well-being over self-interest, expressing concern for the future of Western civilization until such leaders are in place.
