Peter Langley Biography for Chester South and Eddisbury

Early Life and Education

Peter Langley's journey began in Cambridge, but his passion for education truly took root in Birmingham. There, he earned a degree in Youth and Community Studies and Physical Education, which paved the way for his career in teaching and youth work. His professional path started with the Hereford and Worcester Youth Service, where he developed his expertise in both Hereford and Redditch. Staffordshire marked the next chapter in his life, where he married and had children. In 1999, Peter and his family moved to Cuddington, where they have enjoyed a fulfilling life. His two children are now independent, and he is fortunate to have two granddaughters.

Career and Achievements

Since 2006, Peter Langley has successfully run his own education consultancy. With the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy, he has concentrated on helping training providers thrive. Presently, he serves as the Director of Apprenticeships at D&A Training, where he manages Construction Plant Operative apprenticeships and the innovative Youth Work apprenticeships at Liverpool Football Club. Peter's expertise extends beyond qualifications, encompassing a comprehensive understanding of Apprenticeship reforms, accountability frameworks, and the Ofsted inspection process. His national influence in youth work development is evident through his role as an External Quality Assurer for various programs.

Community Service and Advocacy

Peter Langley's commitment to community service is a cornerstone of his life. As a Director for InSide-2-Out CIC, he supports Birmingham's homeless population. He is also actively involved with The Hidden Victims of Crime, providing practical aid to families impacted by the criminal justice system. Driven by his extensive experiences, Peter is proud to stand as a candidate for Reform UK.
