Bill Hopkins Biography for Wyre Forest
Bill Hopkins is proud to be a third-generation resident of Wyre Forest, deeply rooted in the community he serves. His commitment to local issues and governance has shaped his political journey and engagement with residents.
Political Journey and Achievements
As the former Chairman of UKIP Wyre Forest, Bill played a pivotal role in the successful campaign for Brexit in 2016, triumphing against the Establishment. In 2019, he joined The Brexit Party but stepped down during the General Election. Later, in January 2020, he joined The Conservative Party, hoping for a decisive Brexit under Boris Johnson. However, by November 2023, disillusioned by the rising taxes, long NHS waiting lists, and uncontrolled immigration under the Tory government, he made the switch to Reform UK, The Common Sense Party.
Community Engagement and Local Initiatives
Bill serves as a Councillor on Kidderminster Town Council and is also a Worcestershire County Councillor. He has actively allocated his £10,000 divisional funding to support three primary schools: Comberton, Offmore, and St. Ambrose, as well as The Boys Brigade and the Kidderminster and District Youth Trust. His focus remains on prioritizing the needs of his residents and fostering community development.
Monthly Community Meetings
Bill invites residents to participate in monthly Wyre Forest meetings, held on the second Monday of every month at 7 PM at Stourport Royal British Legion, located at Litchfield Street, Stourport, DY13 9EU. These gatherings provide an opportunity for open dialogue and community engagement, reinforcing his commitment to serving the people of Wyre Forest.
