Helen Hims, a native of Kent, spent her formative years in Sussex, where she dedicated herself to serving the community through roles in both the NHS and the airline industry at Gatwick. Relocating to Somerset in the mid-1990s, she settled in the picturesque village of Shipham, where she and her husband raised a large family while managing a thriving local business.

Her journey into politics began in 2012, marking the start of an active engagement with various political endeavors. Notably, in 2015, she contested the Wells constituency as the Parliamentary Candidate for UKIP, achieving an impressive 3rd place. During her tenure, she also held pivotal positions as the Wells Branch and Somerset County Chairman.

A pivotal moment in her political career came in 2016 during the EU referendum, where she emerged as the Somerset group leader for both Leave.EU and Vote Leave campaigns. Her leadership played a significant role in advocating for the region's stance on Brexit. Subsequently, in 2019, she assumed the position of SW Regional Manager for The Brexit Party, later rebranded as Reform UK. Her strategic contributions were instrumental in securing victory for the party in the European elections.
