Richard Pearse

Richard Pearse is honored to be the Reform UK parliamentary candidate for Weston-Super-Mare. Raised in the West Country by a single mother alongside his five brothers, Richard values family loyalty, education, hard work, and national pride. His commitment to these values led him to complete the prestigious 'All Arms Commando Course' at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines at just seventeen. After earning his 'Green Beret,' he served with 29 Commando RA in Plymouth. Now a former widower with children and happily remarried to a qualified nurse, Richard’s personal experiences have shaped his dedication to public service.

Professional Experience

Following his military career, Richard Pearse gained diverse experience as a rural postman, night shift baker, and taxi driver, which enriched his understanding of people and public service. He pursued higher education at the University of Exeter, earning a degree in Business & Accountancy, followed by an MBA and PhD training while lecturing in management. Transitioning from academia, Richard applied his research in the financial services industry, assisting small businesses and individuals. His career achievements earned him recognition as a 'Fellow' of the Institute of Consultancy and a 'Chartered Manager and Fellow' of the Chartered Management Institute. He retired early at 55, having made significant contributions to his field.

My Motivation

Richard Pearse's dedication to his country is rooted in his respect for individual independence and family values. He is driven by a strong work ethic and believes in collective responsibility for each other and the vulnerable. Richard is concerned about the failures of successive political governments to address critical shortages in Housing, the NHS, Defence, Education, and Energy, and the lack of accountability in government spending. He advocates for substantial change to address these issues effectively.

Richard Pearse believes that it is time to 'Reform' our political system and restore our country to a secure financial footing. He acknowledges the frustration many feel with current politicians who appear to prioritize power over ethical leadership. As a candidate for the Reform Party, Richard is committed to representing the growing concerns of the electorate and providing a beacon of hope for a better political future.
