Andrew Jackson Biography for Torridge and Tavistock
Early Life and Military Career
Andrew Jackson was born and raised in rural Oxfordshire, where he grew up alongside his two older brothers in the village pub owned by his parents. From a young age, Andrew harbored a dream of joining the Army. At eighteen, he fulfilled this aspiration by entering Woolwich Barracks. After completing the rigorous All-Arms Commando Course, he earned his green beret and spent sixteen years stationed at The Royal Citadel in Plymouth.
Transition to Civilian Life and International Experience
Following his military service, Andrew returned to his roots and established a successful tree surgery business. Four years later, he seized an opportunity to work in the Middle East, where he spent nine years. During this period, he met his wife, and together they decided to return to the UK. Andrew secured a position with Network Rail, focusing on clearing trees and vegetation. After six years and the birth of their son, the family moved back to the Southwest to be closer to his wife’s hometown and family.

Since relocating, Andrew has become an active member of his local community, joining the Parish Council and eventually being promoted to Chairman. His deep interest in politics has led him to support Reform UK, believing that it is the only party committed to restoring integrity and pride in the country through common-sense policies.
