Helen Rose O'Hare Biography for Sherwood Forest
Helen Rose O'Hare, a lifelong resident of the Sherwood Forest Constituency, has dedicated her career to improving her community. Born in Rainworth and residing in Blidworth for the past 20 years, Helen's deep connection to the area is evident in her tireless work and commitment.
From Coal Miner's Daughter to Charity Sector Accountant
The eldest daughter of a coal miner, Helen began her professional journey as an apprentice and later advanced to become a Foreign Markets Financial Analyst for a major international company. In 2013, she shifted her focus from finance to the training sector and subsequently served as a social worker, specializing in supporting ex-coal miners and their families across the East Midlands. Today, Helen is an accomplished Accountant with a focus on the charity sector.
Political Engagement and Advocacy
Helen's political career began as an independent Councillor for her parish council, where she served as Chairman until February 2024. She has actively campaigned against the construction of a 70-house estate on Dale Lane, Blidworth, a project supported only by Conservative and Labour politicians and opposed by the local community.
Championing Reform UK in the East Midlands
Driven by her passion for positive change, Helen is now the regional manager for Reform UK in the East Midlands. She is committed to promoting Reform UK's policies throughout the Sherwood Forest constituency, which will see a newly defined boundary and an electorate of 76,676 in the 2024 general election.
Addressing Local Issues and Infrastructure Challenges
The Sherwood Forest Constituency has experienced significant growth in housing, yet there has been no corresponding improvement in essential services. The lack of new GP surgeries, dentists, school places, and police presence has led to declining living standards. The deteriorating state of the roads symbolizes the broader infrastructure challenges faced by residents.
A Call for Change and Better Representation
Helen believes that the residents of Sherwood Forest deserve better value for their taxes and improved local services. She attributes many local issues to national policies, including mass immigration and the costly pursuit of net-zero targets. Frustrated by the lackluster representation and broken promises from the Uniparty system, Helen is standing for Reform UK to address these concerns.
With over 63% of Sherwood Forest voters supporting Brexit in the referendum and feeling let down by the current political establishment, Helen invites those who share her dissatisfaction to join her campaign. If you are tired of ineffective representation and want to make a difference, get involved, volunteer, and support Reform UK's mission for a better future.
