Steve Bayliss proudly stands as the representative for Pontypridd in the General Election 2024. Previously a candidate under the Brexit Party, he is honored to now represent the constituents under the rebranded Reform UK party. A native of Pontypridd and a freeman of Llantrisant Common, Bayliss brings a wealth of experience from his work in local factories, emergency services, and as a cadet instructor within the Rhondda-Cynon-Taff community.

A Legacy of Service and Commitment

Bayliss’s dedication to public service is deeply rooted in his family's history. His grandfathers were miners, and his father served as a soldier, fighting for the nation’s freedom and independence. Inspired by this legacy, Bayliss entered politics to address perceived injustices by both UK and Welsh governments, which he believes have undermined democratic principles. He is committed to combating what he views as threats to free speech and the imposition of cultural censorship, citing instances such as the banning of Tom Jones's song "Delilah" by the WRU.

Key Campaign Priorities

• Combatting Woke Culture and Protecting Free Speech: Bayliss aims to challenge the influence of "Woke" and Cancel Culture, advocating for the preservation of free speech and resisting local council restrictions on comedic content.
• Addressing Illegal Immigration: He promises to take decisive action against illegal immigration, including measures to stop illegal boat arrivals and implement a freeze on non-essential immigration.
• Economic Reforms: Bayliss is committed to raising the annual income tax threshold from £12,570 to £20,000, allowing individuals to keep more of their hard-earned income.
• Veterans’ Support: He plans to prioritize veterans’ issues within the first 100 days, focusing on healthcare, housing, training, education, and support for dependents.
• Revamping the NHS: Bayliss’s goal is to eliminate NHS waiting lists within two years. He proposes a voucher system for private treatment if patients face delays in seeing a GP or specialist, while maintaining a free healthcare system.
• Addressing Male Mental Health: Bayliss advocates for the establishment of a Minister for Men and Boys to address male suicide and mental health issues, highlighting the need for dedicated attention to these concerns.
