James Gunn Biography, Parliamentary Candidate for Oxford West and Abingdon

James Gunn, a former Royal Navy Submarine Service member with 13 years of service, transitioned into management consultancy within the computer services industry post his military tenure. With extensive experience across various industry sectors, he has facilitated the implementation of major IT systems for large government and commercial organizations. Since 2001, James has operated as an independent consultant, specializing in artificial intelligence, Sales, and Marketing, catering to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Outside his professional endeavors, James is a dedicated family man, a proud father of two adult daughters, and a grandfather. He actively engages in his community, worshipping at Emmanuel Church in Oxford.

Having previously supported the Conservative party and campaigned for the Brexit party during the EU referendum, James grew disillusioned with mainstream politics, feeling disconnected from the concerns of ordinary citizens. Frustrated by what he perceives as a lack of principled leadership, he seeks to offer a viable alternative to the entrenched policies of traditional parties.

As a Reform UK candidate, James is committed to amplifying the party's platform to address the concerns of the silent majority. He advocates for a competitive economy, controlled immigration, and reforms in public services and government spending. Locally, he opposes Oxfordshire Council's Local Traffic Neighbourhood policy, viewing it as a decision made without proper consultation and against the interests of the community.

James envisions the next General Election as an opportunity for real change and urges constituents to voice their concerns. He welcomes engagement and support from the community, whether through campaign funding, raising awareness, or connecting with local groups and leaders.
