Steve Beatty Biography for Didcot and Wantage

Steve Beatty is proud to have been selected as a parliamentary candidate for Reform UK. His decision to stand for election stems from a deep conviction that the political elite have lost touch with the needs and concerns of the people. He believes that the current political class no longer represents the voices of everyday citizens, and he is determined to bring about meaningful change.

A Working-Class Background with Entrepreneurial Spirit

Born in Glasgow to Scots-Irish parents, Steve Beatty's family relocated to Oxfordshire in 1978 when they sought employment at British Leyland. From an early age, Steve demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset, starting a small DIY cassette label while still in school. He funded the venture through various jobs, such as window cleaning and delivering newspapers. Over time, that label evolved into a prominent company in the music industry, where Steve has been a key player for over 35 years, employing more than 60 people. In addition, he has successfully developed and sold three other companies, which continue to be well-known brands.

Personal Life and Interests

Beyond his business achievements, Steve is a devoted family man. He has been with his partner for 11 years, and together they are raising two young children. His passions extend to military and political history, music, film, gardening, and rugby. These interests reflect his well-rounded character and his commitment to lifelong learning and cultural engagement.

Political Career and Achievements

Steve’s dedication to public service is demonstrated by his political journey. He has previously stood in two elections for UKIP and served as an Independent Town Councillor in Wallingford, where he worked for five years. During his time as a councillor, Steve was instrumental in bringing a cultural project to fruition, showcasing his ability to drive meaningful change at the local level.

A Vision for the Future

As a prospective MP for Reform UK, Steve Beatty recognizes the many challenges facing the nation, particularly around immigration control, housing, healthcare, and government accountability. He firmly believes that the government must prioritize its own citizens, ensuring a safe and secure society for future generations. Steve’s platform includes affordable housing, a well-functioning health system, lower taxes, and the elimination of government waste, all while ensuring equal opportunities for all.

Steve invites voters to join him in his mission to restore faith in the nation, believing that the next chapter in the UK's story begins with the next generation.
