A Local Advocate for Change
For over two decades, Matthew Kellermann has called Alton home. Alongside his wife, he has raised three children in East Hampshire, deeply embedding himself in the community. As a long-time local resident, Matthew has developed a strong connection to the area. His commitment to the community led him to stand for office, successfully becoming a town councillor for the Alton - Wooteys ward last year.
A Passion for Politics Shaped by 1970s London
Matthew’s interest in politics began during his childhood in 1970s London, a time marked by industrial strikes and the threat of IRA terrorism. Amidst the challenges, he also witnessed the power of community and the positive contributions made by integrated immigrants. These experiences ignited a lifelong passion for politics and public service.
Critique of the Status Quo: The Need for Change
Matthew has watched the political landscape of Britain deteriorate. He believes that the broken promises, incompetence, and divisive policies of the three traditional parties have left the country in crisis. Issues such as uncontrolled development on greenfield sites, failing public services, rising crime, heavy taxation, the high cost of living driven by the push for Net Zero, and record levels of mass immigration are, in his view, harming British lives.
Reform UK: A Vision for a Stronger Britain
Matthew believes that Reform UK provides a pragmatic and bold alternative to the current system. The party’s policies focus on fast-tracking brownfield house building, prioritizing social housing for British citizens, and overhauling public services. They aim to hire 40,000 front-line police officers, lower taxes, and ensure responsible government spending. Reform UK is committed to upholding British values, traditions, and taking back control of the nation’s borders and laws.
