A Dedicated Career in Medicine and Public Service

Born in Windsor and raised in Hastings, Bernard Holton's upbringing was influenced by his father, a blacksmith, and his mother, a nursery nurse. His academic journey began at a local Grammar School, paving the way for him to secure a place at Cardiff University. He was also awarded two prestigious RAF scholarships: one for pilot training and another for the Cranwell Officer University program. His educational pursuits at Cardiff University and The Open University culminated in a degree in Biochemistry and Psychology.

Extensive Experience in NHS and Pharmaceuticals

With a career spanning 37 years in medicine and pharmaceuticals, Bernard has dedicated the majority of his professional life to the NHS, particularly in Carmarthenshire, where his family has resided for over four decades. His deep understanding of NHS Wales and the Welsh Government has positioned him as a vital advisor and key member of numerous advisory committees. As the Vice Chair of the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industries in Wales, he successfully coordinated efforts between members and the NHS, advocating for improved healthcare delivery.

Commitment to Reform and Political Engagement

Bernard joined REFORM UK at its inception and was quickly invited to contest the Swansea West seat in the Welsh parliamentary Senedd election. His political engagement reflects his commitment to public service and reform in Welsh politics. Recently, he has been selected to represent the new constituency of Caerfyrddin in the upcoming General Election, signaling his continued dedication to serving the community and advancing meaningful change.
