Ian Cooper has called Tamworth home since 1996, proudly embracing Staffordshire as his own. Originally from Nottinghamshire, Ian's formative years were influenced by the miners' strike, a defining event for his generation. Coming from a working-class background, where his father worked and his mother managed the household, Ian attended a local grammar school and completed his A levels.
Early Career and Education
Ian’s professional journey began at the Land Registry, but he soon discovered it wasn’t his ideal path. He transitioned to a lithographic printing apprenticeship with a local firm, which ignited his career in the print media industry. Over time, he explored various roles, from production and manufacturing to sales, eventually becoming a buyer of printed media. His educational pursuits included a business degree and an MBA with an international component in Poland.
Professional Experience
With over 35 years of experience, Ian has worked with a wide range of businesses across the supply chain. His career includes a significant role as Sales Director at an accountancy firm in Birmingham, and he now operates as an SME business consultant. Ian utilizes his extensive knowledge to support new and growing businesses, offering insights and expertise garnered from his diverse industry experience.
Political Engagement
Ian Cooper joined Reform UK after becoming disillusioned with the main political parties, which he feels offer little distinction on critical issues. He supports Reform UK for its fresh approach and genuine commitment to the UK’s best interests. Ian advocates for a new vision and effective policies that offer a meaningful alternative to the current technocratic governance.
