Vic Applegate Biography, Parliamentary Candidate for Shrewsbury
Vic Applegate is honored to stand as the Reform UK candidate for Shrewsbury, bringing extensive experience as the Shropshire Area Coordinator for the party. Vic's background is rooted in service and entrepreneurship, having served with distinction in the Royal Marines and successfully establishing four businesses post-military.
With a firm belief that politicians should serve the people, Vic is committed to acting in the best interests of Shrewsbury residents. He has actively engaged with the community to understand their concerns and is dedicated to addressing key local issues if elected as MP. His priorities include tackling the challenges faced by the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, combating river pollution, and enhancing flood management of the River Severn.
Passionate about putting people first, Vic pledges to be a strong advocate for the Shrewsbury community. He invites residents to share their concerns and promises to listen and act on their behalf.
Vic emphasizes the need for change, highlighting the failures of both Labour and Conservative governments. He points out that the Labour government left the country in financial disarray in 2010, and criticizes the Conservative government for nearly "breaking Britain." Vic warns that a Labour government could lead the country back into Europe and potentially bankrupt it.
He also addresses concerns about Labour leader Keir Starmer's commitment to Brexit, noting Starmer's preference for Davos over Westminster, which Vic believes undermines the British Parliament and the will of the people.
Recognizing the widespread disillusionment with the major parties, Vic calls for a fresh start. On 4 July 2024, he urges the people of Shrewsbury to vote for change, vote for Reform UK, and vote for Vic Applegate for a brighter future.
