A True Yorkshireman with Deep Regional Roots
Tony Harrison was born and raised in South Yorkshire, specifically in Doncaster. Having lived in Doncaster for the majority of his life, he made the move to Dinnington just over 14 years ago, embodying the spirit of a true Yorkshireman.
Tony's family history is deeply intertwined with the region. His grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins have all lived across South Yorkshire, including Sheffield, Doncaster, Aughton, Swallownest, Maltby, and Rotherham. This extensive family background has given Tony a profound understanding of the area and its people, reinforcing his strong connection and affinity for the region. His grandparents' military service during World War II adds a personal touch to his patriotism. One grandfather served in the Royal Navy and survived, while the other, a member of the Coldstream Guards, was tragically killed on D-Day in Normandy. This family legacy makes commemorations like the recent D-Day 80-year anniversary particularly meaningful for Tony, underscoring his deep-rooted love for his country.
