Andy is a proud father of three boys. His eldest, aged 22, works as an IT infrastructure Technician, while his 19-year-old is pursuing a degree in Mathematics and Statistics at Warwick University. His youngest son, aged 17, will also be studying Mathematics and Statistics at the same university later this year.
Motivation for Standing
Andy’s decision to stand as a parliamentary candidate stems from his deep concern for the future of his children and the state of the country. Having previously participated in local elections and served as an Agent for other candidates, Andy believes that urgent reform is necessary to address the critical issues facing the UK. He is alarmed by the current state of affairs, including the brain drain of skilled professionals and the mismanagement of vital services such as the NHS and the police.

Andy has strong historical ties to Derbyshire. His surname, Egginton, originates from a village in Derbyshire, and he is a distant relative of Francis Egerton, the first MP for North East Derbyshire in 1885. This connection reinforces his commitment to the region and its future.

Andy is a black belt in several martial arts and maintains a rigorous fitness routine, training at the gym 5-6 times a week. He enjoys playing football and tennis and has a diverse career background, including roles as an electrician, policeman, Inland Revenue officer, financial manager, and property professional.
