Philip Hyde Biography for Romford
Philip Hyde, a resident of Noak Hill, Romford, is a dedicated family man with three daughters and three grandchildren. After a distinguished 30-year career in the city, Philip retired and pursued his passion for horticulture by studying at Writtle Agricultural College. With his new qualifications, he founded a successful landscaping business, from which he is now retired.
Political Involvement
In 2010, driven by dissatisfaction with the two-party system, Philip ran as an Independent candidate against Andrew Rosindell. His political journey continued in 2014 when he joined UKIP, motivated by a belief in the UK's potential outside the EU. His efforts led him to represent the Heaton ward (Harold Hill) in the local elections. However, disillusioned with council management and the neglect of his ward, Philip resigned his seat in 2016. He also represented UKIP in the 2015 General Election for the Ilford North constituency.
Community Engagement and Interests
Philip recently stepped down as a director of Romford Golf Club to focus on his upcoming political campaign. His long-standing support for Romford Football Club includes several seasons as a main sponsor. Passionate about sports, Philip co-founded Stubbers Canoe Club 50 years ago with a friend. He continues to train and compete with Chelmsford Canoe Club and is qualified for the Olympic white-water course at Lea Valley. Recently, Philip joined Stone Sailing Club near Maldon, revisiting a sport from his youth.
Vision for the Future
Philip believes that now is a pivotal moment for the UK to redefine its trajectory. He supports Reform's policies, which are founded on common sense and sound financial planning. Stay tuned for more insights into how these policies aim to reshape the future.
