John Thomas Biography, Parliamentary Candidate for Pontefract, Castleford and Knottingley

John Thomas is a dedicated and effective communicator committed to transparency, honesty, and ethical conduct. With a 25-year career supporting the NHS, ensuring hospitals are well-equipped to meet patient needs across England and Wales, John has faced his most challenging years recently. His extensive experience in healthcare logistics underscores his resilience and expertise.

Growing up in Wakefield, John attended Kettlethorpe High School and completed his A-Levels at Wakefield College. He took on various temporary jobs, starting as a glass collector at Legends and Harleys in Castleford at 17. In 1998, he began working at NHS Supply Chain in Normanton, where he continues to serve as an Inventory Manager.

John has stood for election in Altofts and Whitwood for several years and is honored to lead the only independent party in the Wakefield District. He firmly believes that independence from a party whip is essential for MPs to be truly accountable to their constituents. Reform UK MPs are accountable only to the people, free from the influence of big business or big pharma lobbyists.

John’s sole focus is serving the people of Pontefract, Castleford, and Knottingley, without any personal political ambitions. As an active participant in the Vote Leave campaign, which secured 70% of the votes in Pontefract, Castleford, and Knottingley in 2016, John has proven his ability to challenge the establishment and achieve significant victories.

He is currently collaborating with a blockchain developer to create the UK's first Direct Democracy portal, BlocVote. This innovative platform will allow constituents to directly communicate their views and preferences to their elected representatives, ensuring that MPs vote according to the will of the people. The system includes a right of recall, empowering voters to remove underperforming MPs who fail to honor their promises.

John advocates for a direct democracy where power is diffused among the populace rather than concentrated in the hands of a few. This approach fosters a more balanced and representative decision-making process, empowering citizens and promoting a sense of ownership in the political process.

John addresses critical issues that matter to the people:

  • Net Zero Policy: Opposing the current plan which he believes makes citizens colder and poorer, and questioning Labour's proposed £116 billion plan.
  • Immigration: Calling for a say on managing both legal and illegal immigration numbers.
  • Quantitative Easing: Criticizing the policy for causing uncontrolled inflation and the highest tax burden in a generation.

Living in Castleford with close friends and family in Pontefract, Castleford, and Knottingley, John is deeply connected to these communities. He urges voters to elect a representative who genuinely understands and lives their daily experiences.

This year, vote to bring real opposition to the Westminster elite. Vote Reform UK in our hometowns.
