Dave Holland for Mid Bedfordshire in General Elections 2024
Dave Holland Biography for Mid Bedfordshire
Dave Holland was born in Ampthill, located in the heart of the Mid Bedfordshire Constituency. After residing in Flitwick and Haynes West End, he now lives in Shillington with his wife, Mandy, and their dogs.
Political Involvement and Achievements
Professionally an IT consultant, Dave's journey into politics began with campaigning for the Brexit Party. He later joined Reform UK, actively participating in both local and Parliamentary politics. Notably, he stood in the 2023 Mid Bedfordshire by-election, securing the highest number of votes ever achieved by a Reform UK candidate up to that point.
Dave’s dedication to campaigning is evident. Since his appointment to Mid Bedfordshire in early 2022, he has proactively introduced himself to residents by delivering 60,000 leaflets and engaging in numerous conversations.
Campaign Efforts and Community Engagement
During the Mid Bedfordshire by-election campaign, which lasted 132 consecutive days, Dave, alongside a committed team, knocked on 40,000 doors and organized local events featuring prominent Reform UK speakers. He is deeply committed to promoting the Party's policies throughout the Mid Bedfordshire constituency, which will see a reduced electorate of 71,748 in the 2024 general election due to newly defined boundaries.
Dave has actively participated in several local campaigns, including opposing the development of Greenwoods New Town between Barton-le-Clay and Silsoe and supporting the establishment of a GP surgery in Wixams.
Local Issues and Advocacy
Mid Bedfordshire has experienced the third-largest growth in new homes in the country without corresponding improvements in local services. The lack of new GP surgeries, dental services, school places, and infrastructure spending has led to a declining standard of living, with residents facing long wait times for appointments and difficulty accessing essential services.
Moreover, the area lacks any bank branches, forcing residents to travel to Bedford, Luton, or Hitchin for banking needs. The new banking hub in Ampthill, while a positive step, does not offer essential services like cash handling for local businesses.
Commitment to Reform
Dave is standing for Reform UK because he is dissatisfied with the lackluster representation over recent decades that has led to the current state of affairs. He believes residents deserve better value for their taxes and that many local issues stem from national policies, including mass immigration and costly net zero agendas.
If you share Dave’s frustration and are interested in making a change, he encourages you to get involved, join the campaign, and volunteer with Reform UK.
