Jane Anne Duckworth Biography for Milton Keynes North
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Jane Anne Duckworth was born in Huntingdon and moved to West Bletchley at the age of six, where she was raised and educated locally. After completing her schooling, she began her career at Watts Industrial Tyres, where she quickly advanced to become one of the company’s youngest managers at just 18. Her decision to leave Watts and become self-employed led her to join her family’s chemical business, focusing on sales. This role allowed her to connect with people directly, a facet of her career she truly enjoyed. It was during this time that she met her future husband, a dairy farmer from Haversham.
Building a Successful Partnership
Together, Jane and her husband developed a notable portfolio of retail and wholesale customers eager to purchase fresh milk from his family’s farm, which housed a herd of 250 Friesian dairy cattle. Their dedication to providing quality products and building strong customer relationships was instrumental in their success.
Life in Spain and Family Time
In 2006, Jane and her family relocated to Spain, where they embraced a new culture and lifestyle. During this period, they focused on educating their two daughters, engaging in outdoor activities like horse riding, and participating in local amateur dramatics. This time abroad was invaluable for the family, providing cherished moments together.
Return to the UK and Community Involvement
The family returned to the UK in 2012 to support their children as they began their university studies. Jane reintegrated into the workforce and took on various projects, including a part-time role with Home Instead Care, a charity dedicated to providing in-home care for the elderly. Her role involved networking with local and national charities, such as MK Bus Shelter, MK Act, The Moran Centre, and Scots Bowls Club, to offer support and guidance to the elderly. This work proved to be profoundly rewarding and fueled her passion for addressing local issues affecting the elderly.
Commitment to Politics and Community
Jane’s firsthand experience with elderly care and local community concerns ignited her interest in politics. Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact, she became actively involved in political efforts aimed at improving the lives of the elderly and addressing local issues.
