He is honored to serve as Reform UK’s PPC and spokesperson for Bedford. Championing Reform UK’s Vision

Matt Lansley proudly supports Reform UK’s dynamic manifesto, designed to deliver immediate benefits to the working population. The current cost of living crisis, exacerbated by poor political decisions, is eroding household finances. Reform UK’s plan includes making the first £20,000 of income tax-free, eliminating VAT on energy bills, and reducing fuel duty. These measures aim to provide direct relief to individuals and businesses across the UK.

Addressing Bedford's Educational Concerns

Bedford is set to be significantly impacted by Labour’s proposed tax on independent education, a policy that will affect every child in the area, including those in state education. Matt Lansley is committed to opposing this detrimental policy and standing up for Bedford’s educational needs.

Despite its beauty, Bedford faces a growing number of empty shops and business closures. To counteract this trend, Reform UK proposes removing business rates for small high street retailers and reducing Corporation Tax to 20%. Additionally, he aims to enhance public safety by recruiting 40,000 new frontline officers and reinstating stop-and-search practices in high-risk areas to address drug dealing and knife crime.

Reforming the NHS

The NHS, despite high levels of spending, is struggling with long wait times and service quality. Matt Lansley believes that the issues stem from bloated management and inefficiencies. By modeling reforms on successful European healthcare systems, Reform UK aims to deliver a more effective and efficient NHS.

Promoting Political Reform

To counter the influence of an out-of-touch elite, Reform UK plans to introduce Proportional Representation, reduce the size of the House of Lords, and reform the Civil Service. These changes are designed to foster a more responsive and accountable political system.
