Antony Love Biography for Ipswich

Antony Love is the Reform UK Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the Ipswich constituency. With a diverse background and extensive experience, Antony is committed to advocating for the people of Ipswich and addressing their concerns.

Early Life and Background

Born in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, in June 1955, Antony Love's early years were shaped by his father's 17-year career in the Royal Navy. The family moved frequently along the south coast, and Antony spent a brief period living above a chip shop near the Harwich lighthouse. His formative years were spent at The Royal Hospital School in Holbrook, Suffolk, where he developed a strong aptitude for mental arithmetic.

Career in the Casino Industry

Antony's career began at the Playboy Casino in Park Lane, London, where he worked for seven years as a Dealer and Inspector of Blackjack, Roulette, and Punto Banco. He later trained croupiers before moving to a casino in Hans Street, which eventually relocated to Curzon Street in Mayfair.

Transition to Independent Bookmaking

In 1987, Antony opened his first Licensed Betting Office in Haslemere, Surrey. For the next 30 years, he operated as an independent bookmaker. However, increasing regulatory costs and internet competition led to the closure of his last shop in Liphook, Hampshire, in August 2018. Antony then relocated to Felixstowe and opened an antique shop on the High Street.

Political Engagement and Reform UK Candidacy

Antony Love's political journey began with his candidacy for the Brexit Party in the Suffolk Coastal constituency during the 2019 general election. He and his team established the only Brexit Shop in the country in Hamilton Road, Felixstowe, where they engaged with a wide range of voters. Although the Brexit Party later stood down many candidates, Antony continued as an Independent, pledging to represent those who felt disenfranchised.

He observed a significant shift of Labour voters toward the Brexit Party, especially from Ipswich, and felt a strong dissatisfaction with the Conservative Government's failure to deliver on Brexit promises. Antony believes that the Reform Party is better positioned to address these issues and serve the interests of Ipswich residents.

Personal Life and Community Involvement

Antony is in a long-term relationship and has three adult children from a previous marriage of eighteen years. His mother has been a resident of Nacton for over 30 years and has served as Chairman of The League of Friends for Ipswich Hospital. Antony has actively supported local causes, including running a football competition with The League of Friends, Ipswich Town FC, and Orwell Park School to raise funds for the hospital.

Antony Love is dedicated to representing the Reform Party in Ipswich and demonstrating his commitment to the people of the constituency.
