I am Matt Mulliss, and I am honored to serve as your PPC for the beautiful Gosport area. My decision to join Reform UK was driven by their policies and vision for change, which align closely with my own values. I am committed to contributing to a nation that we can all be proud of once again.

A Proud Legacy of British Heritage

Growing up, I witnessed the immense pride that people took in being British, celebrating with flags and festivities for events like the Queen's Jubilees and Commonwealth Games. The collective pride in our nation, our Commonwealth, and the global admiration we earned was truly inspiring. This sense of national pride is something I deeply value and strive to restore.

From Humble Beginnings to Global Experience

Raised in Hampshire and spending much of my life on the Solent, I come from a hardworking family with strong values. I began my professional journey at 16 through a Youth Training Scheme (YTS) apprenticeship, earning £34.50 a week. Today, I am a marine engineer and captain, with extensive experience in marine and sailing projects across various countries. This global perspective has enriched my understanding of diverse cultures and challenges.

Commitment to Marine Conservation and Rescue

In addition to my career, I have dedicated myself to volunteer marine search and rescue operations, including a significant role with VISAR in the British Virgin Islands. Despite the challenges posed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, which disrupted my life and business, I returned to Hampshire, where I continue to work as a marine engineer and conservationist. My commitment to protecting our oceans and the Gosport coastline remains unwavering.

Overcoming Challenges and Health Battles

Throughout my life, I have faced numerous trials, from natural disasters to personal health battles. Ten years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer, which I successfully overcame. Although the cancer returned six years later due to a medical mishap abroad, I once again triumphed with the support of the NHS. Their tireless dedication has been crucial to my recovery and my commitment to public service.

A Promise to the People of Gosport

My experiences have taught me resilience and determination. Losing and giving up are not options for me. I pledge to fight for the people of Gosport with the same strength and resolve that life has shown me. With your support, we can make our community thrive and work towards a brighter future. Together, we can make Gosport and Britain great once more. I look forward to meeting and representing each of you.
