Lucy Murphy Biography for Dwyfor Meirionnydd

Lucy Murphy is proud to stand as the Reform candidate for Dwyfor Meirionnydd. With a deep belief in a bright future for Wales, she is committed to bringing meaningful change to her community.

A Passion for Diverse Training Opportunities

Growing up in Corwen, Denbighshire, and attending secondary school in Llangollen, Lucy understands the importance of diverse training pathways. Like many of her peers, she left for university and subsequently for employment opportunities. Lucy advocates for a system that includes apprenticeships, internships, and scholarships to better equip the future workforce.

Proven Leadership and Local Empowerment

During her time in Derby, Lucy played a pivotal role in Reform's campaign, contributing to the election of the first Reform Mayor. This experience highlighted the significance of giving local communities a voice, an essential aspect of her campaign in Dwyfor Meirionnydd.

Addressing Economic Challenges in Wales

Lucy recognizes that the Welsh economy holds tremendous potential, encompassing small business owners, farmers, and laborers. However, she is concerned that this potential has been stifled by overregulation, high taxation, and inadequate infrastructure. Her campaign focuses on fostering an environment where local businesses can thrive.

A Vision for Real Change

For the first time, the Reform party is proposing to raise the tax threshold to £20,000 and reduce the burden on small independent businesses, while also addressing border control issues. Lucy's goal is to provide the electorate with a genuine choice at the ballot box, empowering them to make informed decisions about their future.

Committed to the Campaign Ahead

As the campaign unfolds, Lucy eagerly anticipates engaging with the community and looks forward to the results in July. She appreciates the support of the electorate and is dedicated to advocating for their needs and aspirations.
