Charles Hansard Biography, Parliamentary Candidate for Taunton and Wellington

Charles Hansard, the Reform UK Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, has a rich history rooted in service and environmental advocacy. Born and educated near Radstock, Charles dedicated 12 years to the Army, serving with the 16th/5th The Queen’s Royal Lancers from 1983 to 1994. After his distinguished military career, he pursued a BSc in Environment Management at Cranfield University, marking the beginning of a 30-year journey in developing innovative environmental solutions to industrial challenges.

Charles returned to Somerset in 1997, where he married and later moved to Wellington in 2004. His wife, a dedicated GP, and their three children are integral parts of his life.

In 1995, Charles demonstrated his leadership abilities as a Student Union President and has since been a relentless campaigner. His political endeavors include running for local government and contesting the Bristol North West seat in 2001.

Over the past two decades, Charles has witnessed a significant decline in societal standards, culminating in a crisis of economics, health, housing, and crime. He believes successive governments have failed the citizens.

The people of Taunton and Wellington deserve more effective representation and better value for their taxes. Charles attributes many local issues to national policies, mass immigration, and the high costs associated with the net-zero agenda.

Motivated by the need for change, Charles stands for Reform UK to address the mediocre representation that has plagued his community for decades. He urges residents who share his dissatisfaction to join, volunteer, and support the campaign for a brighter future.
