Early Life and Background

Rory O'Brien was born in Sligo, Eire, to Anglo-Irish parents and moved to the UK in the late 1970s. He was raised in South Harrow, North West London, in a loving single-parent household with two older siblings. Rory now lives in Sunbury, on the edge of the Spelthorne Constituency and the newly extended ULEZ zone, with his wife Sandra and their two children.

Political Involvement and Advocacy

Rory O'Brien's political journey began with the grassroots campaign team for the Brexit Party in Spelthorne during the 2019 General Election. His concern over the severe Covid-19 lockdown measures and the prevailing group-think in Westminster motivated him to take direct action. Rory first ran for office in the 2021 Surrey County Council elections for Sunbury Common & Ashford Common, securing 4% of the vote. He built on this with a 7% share in the 2022 by-election for Spelthorne Council's Sunbury Common seat and achieved an 11% share in the 2023 Local Election.
