Prabhdeep Singh Biography for Feltham and Heston
Early Life and Military Service
Born in the vibrant landscapes of Punjab, India, Prabhdeep Singh's life is marked by dedication and resilience. After relocating to the UK in 2003, he committed himself to public service by joining the British Army in 2007. For nearly eight years, Prabhdeep served valiantly with the Royal Army Dental Corps before transitioning to the Reserve Army.
Transition to Entrepreneurship and Activism
Following his military career, Prabhdeep channeled his leadership skills into entrepreneurship, running a successful Builder Merchant Yard until the pandemic's disruption. His growing concern over the UK's political landscape, particularly the mismanagement by the Tory and Labour parties, fueled his drive for change. Disillusioned by the status quo, Prabhdeep's commitment to the core values of the British Army inspired him to take a stand.
Public Activism and Advocacy
In August 2022, Prabhdeep launched a hunger strike outside Reading station to protest the escalating cost of living and advocate for policies such as a Windfall tax on profit-making giants. Despite being ignored by the Conservative government, his action garnered significant national media attention and marked the beginning of his public activism.
His efforts to engage with the government through written appeals were met with silence, reinforcing his resolve to challenge the political establishment. The introduction of the ULEZ policy by the Labour Mayor of London, despite widespread opposition and legal challenges, highlighted the need for systemic change and further motivated Prabhdeep.
Political Aspirations and Reform UK
In August 2023, Prabhdeep intensified his activism with a week-long hunger strike at Uxbridge station against the ULEZ expansion. This high-profile protest drew international media coverage and public support, culminating in a mass hunger strike outside the Mayor’s residence. Recognizing the limitations of street-level protests, Prabhdeep decided to escalate his efforts to the parliamentary stage.
Aligning with the Reform UK party, Prabhdeep is now poised to bring his fight for justice and democratic integrity to the heart of British politics as the prospective parliamentary candidate for Feltham and Heston. His journey from Punjab to the forefront of UK political reform exemplifies his unwavering commitment to advocating for the working class and transforming the political landscape through integrity and persistence.
