He previously served as a civil servant for cabinet ministers and worked in Parliament, later representing the energy industry in media and government. Tony was a key advocate for maintaining the role of gas in our energy mix, and he remains a vocal critic of the Tory Net Zero policy, opposing the removal of gas boilers.

Advocating for London North East

Tony Glover is a candidate for the Greater London Assembly representing the London North East constituency, which includes the London Boroughs of Hackney, Islington, and Waltham Forest. He aims to address the challenges facing the area by eliminating unnecessary traffic restrictions and ensuring that the police focus on street-level crime rather than social media.

Criticizing Extremist Alignments and Poor Governance

Tony is deeply concerned about the current Poplar and Limehouse Labour MP's association with extremist groups like Hamas, which he believes has contributed to division within the community. He criticizes both the Tory Government and the previous Labour local council, along with Sadiq Khan, for their role in encouraging overdevelopment that has strained local infrastructure and impacted essential services such as water pressure.

Calling for Accountability and Reform

Tony Glover highlights the failures of the current Tower Hamlets Mayor Lutfur Rahman, who, despite his rhetoric, has been ineffective in fostering community unity and addressing local issues. Tony points out that the current Labour MP has aligned with Rahman, contributing to divisive politics and failing to effectively represent constituents. He believes that significant reform is needed in Poplar and Limehouse to better serve local residents and improve local jobs, housing, and transport.
