Michael Mann is the Reform UK candidate for the North Ayrshire and Arran constituency. Born in Glasgow to a paediatric surgeon and a mathematics teacher, Michael’s academic journey laid the foundation for his career in economics and law. He attended the High School of Glasgow before pursuing an impressive academic path, earning three master's degrees in International Commercial Law (LLM) from the University of Salford, European Business (Euro MBA) from the University of Maastricht, and Digital Transformation (MBA) from the University of Barcelona. He is also a devoted family man, married with three children.

A 30-Year Career in Global Economic Development

For over 30 years, Michael has built an extensive career as an international economic development consultant and policy adviser. His expertise has been sought by prestigious global organizations, including the European Union, World Bank, IMF, and the British Government's Foreign and Commonwealth Office. His work has taken him to more than 50 countries across the Middle East, Russia, Africa, and Eastern Europe, where he has provided strategic counsel on economic development and policy reform.

Key Achievements in Shipbuilding and Industrial Restructuring

Michael Mann’s notable contributions include leading key projects in shipbuilding and industrial restructuring. He was the project leader for the privatization of the Western Shipbuilding and Repair Yard JSC in Klaipeda, Lithuania, and led restructuring efforts for the Egyptian Shipbuilding and Repair Company in Alexandria, the Bijela Shipyard in Montenegro, and the Karachi Shipyard in Pakistan. These projects played a crucial role in transforming local economies and industries in these regions.

Trade and Investment Leadership in Kosovo

Michael’s work in Kosovo stands out as one of his most significant achievements. Serving as the Lead Adviser to the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Kosovo for four years, he was instrumental in negotiating four free trade agreements and advising on the country’s trade and investment strategy. He also oversaw the establishment of the Investment Promotion Agency and the development of SMEs, further strengthening Kosovo’s economic foundation.

Returning to his home in Scotland, Michael Mann has become a prominent figure in North Ayrshire, residing in Largs.
