Simon Moorehead Biography for Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West

Simon Moorehead is a Chartered Accountant with a long-standing career that has taken him across the UK. He has a passion for golf, enjoying the challenge of the renowned links courses along the Ayrshire and Lothian/Fife coastline. While he no longer plays football, Simon remains a dedicated fan and sees himself as an everyday man who is disillusioned with the repeated failures and empty promises of the major political parties. He is determined to bring about real change and believes Reform UK is the party that can make it happen.

Why is Simon Moorehead Standing for Reform UK?

Simon stands with Reform UK because it is the only political party committed to scrapping Net Zero. He believes that the current policies unfairly burden ordinary citizens with inflated fuel prices while countries like China continue to increase their emissions. Rather than addressing the issue, the UK offshores its environmental challenges. By ending Net Zero, Simon believes the UK can achieve Energy and Food Independence, empowering farmers to produce more food domestically and reducing reliance on imports.

Simon is also vocal about the growing "war on the motorist." He criticizes policies like low traffic neighborhoods (LTNs), low emission zones, and excessive speed cameras, which he believes are designed to squeeze more money from everyday drivers. He argues that these measures, along with inflated parking charges, are unfair, especially in rural areas where public transport is not a viable alternative. Simon is also concerned about the worsening state of UK roads, filled with potholes, while more charges loom with road pricing schemes.

Defending Free Speech

Simon is deeply troubled by the erosion of free speech, especially under the influence of the SNP and Labour. He points to how universities, schools, the media, and major corporations have been dominated by what he describes as "woke bigots," who dictate what can be said in public discourse. He highlights the implementation of the Hate Crime Bill in Scotland and the earlier Named Person Scheme as examples of the state infringing on personal freedoms, even in private settings. Simon and Reform UK stand firmly against identity politics, advocating for a society based on equality of opportunity, where people are free to express their views without fear of censorship.

Together for a Better Britain

Simon Moorehead invites voters to join him in supporting Reform UK to make Great Britain a place where everyone can take pride. He is committed to protecting personal freedoms, ending punitive policies that target ordinary citizens, and creating a fairer future for all.
