Although work commitments sometimes kept him away, the lifestyle and community in Norfolk have always been a significant part of his life.

A Life Shaped by Faith and Family

Eric's professional journey has led him to many challenging places, yet his faith has been a steadfast source of strength. Now enjoying a more stable life, he cherishes time spent with his wife, who has dedicated 36 years to working in a children's nursery. Her work has been incredibly fulfilling, witnessing generations of children grow and thrive within the same industry.

Motivated by Concern for Future Generations

Eric's decision to stand for election stems from deep concern for his grandchildren’s future. Over the past 50 years, successive governments have focused on short-term goals, leaving pressing issues—such as the budget deficit, energy policy, housing, NHS, defense, and immigration—unresolved. This neglect has also seeped into local government services like planning, road safety, and flood management.

A Vision for a Better Future

The current short-sighted approach in Westminster is driving Eric to stand for election. He fears that decisions made today could negatively impact future generations, potentially degrading the nation into a state of decline. He envisions a future with a burgeoning population, high unemployment among graduates, and increasing poverty due to a strained benefits culture.

Eric believes that to preserve Great Britain’s values and avoid becoming a diminished version of its former self, a change in direction is essential. He urges voters to look beyond traditional tax-and-spend parties and the often reckless actions of established parties, making their choices based on informed judgment rather than media influence.
