Andy Hunter Biography, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for South Ribble

Andy Hunter, a Preston native and Kirkham Grammar alumnus, is dedicated to representing South Ribble as an MP for Reform UK.

Andy began his career after graduating with a Law degree in the late '70s. He ventured into the oil and gas engineering industry, specializing in logistics and systems. His career took him across Scotland, offshore platforms, Norway, Holland, and Libya. One notable experience was working on the world’s largest irrigation project in the Sahara Desert during the Reagan-Qaddafi conflict in 1986.

Following this, Andy pursued and earned an MBA from the prestigious Cranfield School of Management, currently ranked among the top 100 globally. This achievement propelled him into a role at Hoskyns, a leading UK software and services company, which later became part of Cap Gemini.

In 1990, Andy founded his own software company, growing it to over 70 employees across Surrey and Salem, Massachusetts. The company developed innovative image-based systems for the UK Police Service and a market-leading Customer Service system, now known as Customer Experience Management. Their solutions were adopted by major brands such as BT, Next, O2, WH Smith, Toyota, Hertz, and McDonald's, and are used by over 70,000 users in one of the UK’s ‘big four’ banks.

After 12 successful years, Andy transitioned to a quieter life, engaging in various business and community initiatives. He served as an Enterprise Facilitator in East Lancashire, aiding numerous individuals in launching and expanding their businesses. Additionally, he collaborated with the UK’s largest business angel company to connect investors with budding enterprises and supported the establishment of a successful marketing agency.

Andy also spent six years living in the Czech Republic, further broadening his international experience. His connection to Cranfield remained strong, leading to his appointment as President of the Cranfield School of Management’s Alumni Association, representing over 35,000 alumni worldwide. He served on the School’s Strategic Advisory Board, stepping down in 2023 after four years of service.

Now, Andy is back in his hometown and eager to represent the people of South Ribble. With his extensive business background and commitment to fair representation, Andy aims to serve his constituents with dedication and integrity as their Reform UK MP candidate.
