David Bowes Biography, Parliamentary Candidate for Scarborough and Whitby
Hello! I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to stand for Reform UK and represent the wonderful people of Whitby & Scarborough in the upcoming General Election.
My connection to this area runs deep. With a lineage that includes a decorated Inspector for Scarborough Police Force and a Detective Sergeant in what is now North Yorkshire Police, along with my own roots in both Scarborough and Whitby, I am deeply passionate about our community.
Professionally, I've spent over a decade in the pharmaceutical industry, training extensively with experts from France and Denmark. I had the privilege of being part of a team that developed a groundbreaking adrenaline device in Sweden, a device that is now saving lives globally. Following this success, I established my own pharmaceutical company, which I ran successfully for 8 years.
Transitioning from pharmaceuticals, I've spent recent years restoring old buildings into homes for my family, a project that fills me with immense pride.
Beyond work, I have a keen interest in old maps and books, and enjoy exploring the moors and coastline, searching for fossils.
While our area retains its Victorian charm, it's not immune to the challenges facing other regions. Our political system is failing us, with escalating taxes, NHS wait times, immigration issues, and mounting debt. It's time for change.
As your representative, I pledge to address issues such as fishing, local housing, healthcare, immigration, education, and crime with common sense solutions. I believe in returning power to the people, away from corporate interests and self-serving agendas.
We all deserve safe streets, efficient infrastructure, and a local policy plan shaped by community input and respect for our heritage.
In the coming months, I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible as I canvas the area, listening to your concerns and advocating for our shared vision of a brighter future. Let's say no to the status quo and chart a new course together.
